Thank you to everyone who has stopped by the LED Waves booths at BE11 and NFMT the past few weeks! These events were loads of fun and while we’re enjoying this down time between trade shows, we’re really excited about meeting more of our supporters at Globalcon next week. If you’re in Philadelphia March 30-31st, look for us at the Pennsylvania Convention Center at Globalcon Booth #401.
Meanwhile, back at the warehouse, we’re still updating our inventory and making room for more state of the art LED lights. We’ve added tons of great items to our Clearance section - so take a look and see if your old favorites made the cut!
If you’ve got a large project involving signage or backlight, now is the perfect time to check out the Missouri Waterproof. Like the Mississippi, this LED light come in 38” segments, but what sets the Missouri apart is its 17.5” lead wires for easy DIY-ability. You can daisy-chain these guys together to create the perfect backlighting for letters and custom logos – even outdoors! Previously $33.95, the Missouri Waterproof is now on sale for $23.95.

We’ve also got spools and spools of LED rope lights – in amber and green and red, oh my! Imagine everything you love about LED lights in rope form: low profile, high impact, and low wattage. And with the inherent dependability of LEDs, these rope lights have long, productive lives ahead of them. Please rescue them from the lonely warehouse!
Call us at 1-800-986-0169 if you need more technical information about these or any other of our LED lighting products. Our sales team can also help with special orders, availability, and pricing by quantity. Whether it’s over the phone, at a trade show, or online at LEDWaves.com, we’d love to meet you and talk your ear off about LED lights!

Our guys are back from Baltimore and they're reporting that NFMT was a huge success, not to mention a lot of fun. It was great speaking to so many fellow professionals in the green sector. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth!
In the midst of spring cleaning, the LED Waves warehouse has set aside some overstocked items that we can now offer at new lower prices. Among the drastically cut products are a few models of MR-16 LED light bulbs. For those who are unfamiliar with this term, MR-16s are small bi-pin light bulbs designed for low-voltage systems. We're seeing a growing number of these, as well as other alternatives to E27s, as the more disposable Edison-style lamps are being slowly phased out.

The Corinth is a 3 Watt LED MR-16 containing 3 High-Power LEDs. It's rated to last 30,000 hours, which means way fewer halogen bulb replacements (not to mention fewer trips up and down the ladder to reach high-up fixtures). With its cool white color temperature (5K) and outstanding color rendering, the Corinth LED light bulb would be a great asset in a gallery or any retail display application.
Originally $23.55 / Now $13.95

Another LED MR-16 clearance option is the Thebes LED Light Bulb. Available in warm white, this is a solid 5 Watt replacement for the 20 Watt halogen MR-16s you usually see in track or cable lighting. (Check out our affiliates at LightWavesConcept.com for these low-voltage systems.) With its inherent energy savings and 30,000 hour lifespan, we hope you'll think the "Thebes" is "The-best"!
Originally $16.95 / Now $14.95
More sale updates to come as we slash prices like crazy.

LED Waves just wrapped up the Building Energy 11 conference and trade show in Boston and our next stop this week is the Baltimore Convention Center for NFMT. We’ve exhibited with NFMT before and we’re really excited about returning this year. The show offers exposure to high-profile individuals in facilities management, plus there are always cool interactive exhibitions going on.
If you’re headed to Baltimore for the show, it would be great to see you! We’ll be at NFMT booth #1479, March 15-17.
In the spirit of facilities management, we’re showcasing some of our top sellers for professionals in this field. Among our favorites is the Madison High-Power LED Aluminum Light Bar. We like it because it’s hard working – even at a mere 12 Watts, it’s one of our brightest LED light bars – but it’s also on the more stylish end, with its sleek aluminum casing.
The Madison High-Power LED Light Bar comes in 22’’ units (12 LEDs total), but up to three of them can be soldered together. The Madison emits about 3’ of visible light, and it can be dimmed with a separate dimmable LED power supply.
Today’s Facility Magazine also thinks highly of the Madison LED Light Bar, as they featured it in the Product Focus section (Page 33) of their January issue. TFM notes that this lamp is ideal for “replacing high heat lighting in display and museum cases, and inconspicuously creating bright retail spaces.”
Whether you’re looking to illuminate a commercial or residential space, LED Waves has a great retrofit or customized LED lighting solution for your project! Give our sales team a call at 1 800 986 0169 to hear about products and availability, get pricing by quantity, or just to learn more about LED technology. And if you’re in Baltimore this week, swing by NFMT and head to LED Waves booth #1479. We’d love to see your face.

LED Waves has been following the story of the BULB Act, a measure to repeal the upcoming lighting efficiency standards in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. Led by representative Andrew Barton (R-TX), the Better Use of Light Bulbs Act gained quite a few supporters - with fellow Texas Congressman Ron Paul as the most recent addition -who feel that the EISA is killing jobs in the industries of inefficient lighting. (Supporters of the BULB Act never seem to acknowledge the rapid domestic job growth in the LED lighting sector, though.)
GreenTechEnterprise notes, "There are a few ironies here. First, light manufacturers have already begun to phase out incandescents in favor of solid state lighting, so repealing the law would actually hurt manufacturers. Consumers and businesses would also suffer in the long run because of the higher power bills that the prolonged consumption of incandescents will cause. A new and burgeoning industry would also shift overseas: China, Europe, Australia and several other nations have passed laws phasing out incandescents and promoting solid state lighting."
They also neatly address the other concern held by BULB Act proponents, that the government is over-regulating us out of the burning-hot, inefficient incandescent light bulbs that Americans love so much: "The 2007 law also features exceptions for special purpose lights. Barton thus will be able to get replacement incandescents for his Easy Bake Oven and [fellow BULB Act supporter Michelle] Bachmann will be able to buy heat lamps for her pet lizards. (Going to Canada, however, won't be an option: that country has passed a more stringent lighting law.)"
Meanwhile, South Carolina legislators are attempting to attract incandescent bulb makers to set up shop in their state via a loophole in the interstate commerce clause - the same loophole that allows the exportation of relatively cheap cigarettes. "That’s all well and good, but regardless of whatever incentives South Carolina offers, both the global and domestic markets for incandescent lighting will continue to shrink. That doesn’t bode well for the long term growth prospects of whatever companies take them up on the offer," Cleantechnica reports, adding, "The South Carolina solution is a bit like encouraging a company to start building manual typewriters. Sure, the old technology works just fine and there may even be a niche market for those things, but it’s not a serious way to charge up the U.S. economy for a competitive global marketplace."
Bulbasaur was unable to be reached for comment.
As much as the word on the street (the street where people talk about LED lights and green initiatives, anyway) says that the controversial BULB Act will not be passed, we at LED Waves, as well as any other business that stands to thrive on the nation's new energy policies, are still keeping our fingers crossed.

Hey Philadelphians! LED Waves will be all up in your face - if by face, you mean Pennsylvania Convention Center - on March 30-31. We'll be exhibiting as part of the Globalcon Expo, a huge gathering of decision makers from business, industry and government, with a focus on integrated energy solutions. Keep an eye out for LED Waves booth #401... That'll be the one with all the tastefully displayed LED light bars, flexible strips, bulbs, and recessed lights, plus two dudes geeking out about LED lights.

Globalcon should offer a great networking tool as well, which is why we want to share the experience with you! If you'd like to attend the Globalcon Expo, we've got you covered! Click here to register for the Expo for free (normally $40). Participating in the conference costs $895, but you can email us ( customerservice@ledwaves.com) for a coupon code that saves you $200. That's enough for a lot of LED lights. But you can just stop by our booth with some Philly cheese steaks instead.
PS If you're in Boston, we hope to see you at LED Waves booth #612 at Buildings Energy 11, going on right now!

Lots of thanks go out to our customers who took advantage of our February sale on LED light bulbs! We’re excited to put these fine examples of LED technology in people’s hands. There are still everyday low prices on some of our most asked-for items, so keep posted on LEDWaves.com!
Moving forward, LED Waves is hitting the road this month for a whirlwind trade show tour. The first stop will be the Building Energy 11 Conference at Boston’s Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center, March 8th through 10th. We’ll be at Booth 612, so if you’re nearby in Massachusetts this week, we’d love to see your face!
On display at BE11 will be a wide variety of LED lights that are perfect for commercial applications, but all are plug-and-play and simple enough to use in any residential project. This includes the Amazon Flexible LED strip light (pictured, above left). This powerful strip light comes in spools of 19.5’ but comes with handy cutting lines that allow you to snip units down in 2” increments. With its 3M adhesive backing and the included mounting clips and silicone glue, the Amazon LED flexible strip light can be easily incorporated into any lighting project that requires bright light with a low profile. And it’s waterproof, too!
If you’re more into the bar scene, check out the East End LED Light Bar (pictured at right). These 19.7” units are cuttable down to 1.9” increments and they are super user-friendly, too! The East End has a lifespan of 50,000 hours and its sturdy aluminum housing ensures that it’ll stand up to whatever task you throw its way. Available in Warm and Cool White.

In a March 1 press release, the Office of Naval Research reported that they have started testing LED light fixtures on board the USS New Hampshire. The innovation behind the LED lights, custom designed by ONR's TechSolutions program and Energy Focus Inc., sprang from one sailor's complaints about the humming noise that issued from the existing fluorescent fixtures.
It turns out that the lack of humming is just one of many advantages that the researchers are finding with LED lights. The lack of mercury and other toxic chemicals in solid state lighting is also a serious consideration because naval cleanup procedures, even for small amounts, can be huge drains of time and money (on the taxpayer's dime, no less). Plus, the long lifespan and dependability of LED lights allow the crew to stock fewer lamp replacements. Onboard fluorescent replacements take up vast amounts of storage space, which comes at a premium on these vessels.
We're so pleased to hear that LED technology is contributing not only to a higher quality of life for our military forces, but also towards saving time and resources, too! “ LED lights are an immediate way to improve efficiency across the fleet,” said Roger Buelow, chief technology officer at Energy Focus Inc. and principal investigator for the SSL project. So far 33 LED light fixtures have been installed on the USS New Hampshire, with plans to retrofit the entire forward section, as well as spreading to the USS New Mexico, USS Pearl Harbor, USS Preble and USS Chafee.
